Review by: Claudia Pellarini and Leon Joubert

When we met the authors Andrea and Antonella Ferrari , they were collecting the last images and data in the Raja Ampat for their new guide book. We were fascinated by the aim of this new book: to encompass the world’s species in one guide, in order to streamline the task for travelling divers. During our dives we watched them take some of the photographs which are now printed in this book, and in our animated discussions afterwards, their exceptional knowledge and talent became evident.

We could hardly wait to see the results.

Like most other travelling divers, we have a collection of guide books specific to an area of the diving world.

In this day and age where our luggage needs to be streamlined, we welcome this book with open arms!

World famous underwater photographers and authors Andrea and Antonella Ferrari have outdone themselves with their long awaited book A DIVER’S GUIDE TO REEF LIFE  -a guide that encompasses 1200 tropical marine species worldwide.

This book is as essential as your passport on every dive trip from the Red Sea to the Caribbean, Indo-Pacific, and the African coastline.Well written and beautifully photographed, it contains1300 stunning full colour images as well as detailed information on distribution, habitat, size, life habits, underwater photography tips and full indexes. Not only does it help identify critters, but it also gives useful tips on how to photograph them.

This guide is certainly a gem, an indispensable companion for scuba divers and snorkellers alike – available now in South Africa exclusively through BITTENBYSHARKS, located at Scuba Scene, Pretoria.
